WE had Eurocraft Evans glass windows installed when the weather was moderate; not too hot not too cold.When we got a frost it immediately seemed the glass was not near as good as our salesman assured us that it was.The frames seem very good.

I really liked the crew that installed my windows. They were everything I could expect from and then some. They were a few minutes early, were clean looking and they never smoked a ciggarette; not one. That is what was the most impressive to me. Other than that, the job looks good and we will be having them back to finsh the back of the house next year.

Price Information
The price was a little high but I am happy; so it is worth it to me. The warranty card is everything the rep said.

I seen the review page so I wanted to put my 2 cents in. I like the windows very much and they make our house look fantastic. If you have this company out I hope you had the same rep we did. Evan after the install the kid came by and brought some tea and we chatted for quite awhile. I liked every aspect of this company. Good job and Thank you!

The installers were nice and polite. They did their job and was gone at the end of the day. I was so happy that none of them smoked at my house.

They were the only company we talked to and we feel that we got a great product and install while the price seemed fair to us.

I read many reviews and went through several presentations with various companies. I noticed that when most of the companies came out they all had the same windows for sale from the same builder. I booked two different companies at the same time to have them both come out and shop them against each other. The Evans/Euro window looked much better than the plastic type window from the other company; I will not say their name. I went with the Evans/Euro type window and before I followed through I asked for the independent testing for sound, U-Value, and Visible Transmitance which they did produce quite easily. Overall, it took about seven weeks for my windows to be built and installed. The job has been done for about eight months now and my wife is very happy; which means I am happy too. I like the kick locks on the sliding glass door; no more stick in the floor for me. I couldn't stand the stick being down there either.

They did a good job cleaning up and the windows look really good. If we ever get to have a hot summer; then I will really be able to see the performance of them. They seemed to be great during the Winter though; seems like Spring will never come. I am so happy that I didn't have to do the work though; I would have got it done in about four years. I thought about it though.
Price Information
My wife and I had sat through seven presentations and they were the third highest of the bunch. I think we got the best price for the quality. We ended up paying on average $1124.00 per window and we had two sliding glass doors. Overall we did the two sliding doors and nine other various sized windows.

I purchased these in January. They installed them in about 8 weeks. The windows are at least 10 times better than the junk vinyl windows I had that the previous owner installed and they designed them to look original to the age of my home as wood single hung. The windows have dramatically improved the interior and exterior environment of my home and my latest heating bill is 43% lower than it was last month. This window is everything that the company claims it is and I would recommend it to anyone. I feel I paid a more than fair price for a superior product and the best thing is I can afford them on a limited budget. Their critical measure team did a great job making the windows custom to my home as none of my openings were standard.

The installers did show up one hour late and I got no phone call. After my brief anger I realize that this is probably more reliable than most contractors I have ever dealt with. They were very efficient and cleaned up better than I would expect. Their trade is interesting and I respect their expertise. My homework told me I didn't want to take this on myself and they proved it to me by making a tough job go smoothly and it was done in less than a full day.
Price Information
I ended up getting the windows for about $1,300 each. Their closest competitor I shopped was wanting over $2,000 per window to do the same job. I have two more windows and a sliding glass door to do and Evans locked the pricing in for me for 12 months after my first installation. I will be taking advantage of finishing my project sooner than later.

When dealing with Evans Glass or Eurocraft, I ran into the following problems. First, the window is not independently tested, so window performance is at risk. Putting your hand behind a UV lamp during their sales presentation isn't a good measure. Not testing the window is only sort of OK if they can tell you who made the glass and which glass system they buy. For example, PPG, a world know glass manufacturer, makes the following glass systems that are then sold to window manufacturers: SolarBan 60, SolarBan 70XL, and SolarBan 80. PPG has independent test results on those glass systems. As long as the window manufacturer does an adequate job and the glass is large relative to the trim, the overall performance of the window (glass + trim) will be similar to the performance of the glass. That broght me to the second problem. Eurocraft glass is supposed to be from PPG but PPG doesn't list Eurocraft or Evans glass as a PPG Window manufacturer. First Evans Glass claimed Eurocraft used a new patented glass that doesn't use a coating and that it came from PPG. When I checked with PPG I found out that technology doesn't exist anywhere. PPG gets excellent performance by coating their glass. Next Evans Glass claimed they used PPG ThermopermE glass. When I contacted PPG again, PPG stated that they don't make anything called ThermopermE. Then Evans Glass folks did some researching and said sorry, we use PPG SolarBan 80. When I contacted PPG about that, PPG clearly stated that SolarBan 80 uses quarter inch thick glass and the Eurocraft window that Evans Glass sells isn't that thick. So the bottom line is that Eurocraft-Evans glass uses a glass that is untested by an independent lab and they do not come clean about the glass they buy. Buer beware!

Price Information
Champion windows that is ranked #1 in the nation on installers, has a metal header on larger windows, has metal backing on hardware, has a better frame insulation system, and is independently lab tested, had a quote for fully installed that was comperable to the Evans Glass install yourself quote. Make sure you tell the suppliers that you are going out for multiple bids.

After having received quotes from several companies, including Evans Glass, I was originally planning to have Washington Energy Services install replacement vinyl framed windows in my house. But a lady from Evans Glass kept calling/pestering me as to why I didn't want to use their services. I finally succumbed to her pestering and allowed a 'Commercial Sales Rep' to come out and basically write a new quote for about 5K less than the original. Now, three years later all I can say is that I would have gladly paid more to have Washington Energy Services do the work because at least they would have done the job right and installed windows with a proper nailing flange/fin. Where to begin? Firstly, the Evans Glass installation crew looked like a group of guys collected from 1st Avenue...unshaven, smoking, poorly dressed, lots of foul language...you get the picture. The original aluminum windows in my house were installed with nails and construction adhesive making them difficult to remove. So the installation crew cut them out, leaving the aluminum flange in the house frame. The problem with this was that around several windows, they left a gap of almost one and one-half inches wide. And with no nailing flange on the new windows I now have a great big gap between the window frame and the house siding that is filled with nothing but caulk. Now, barely three years after the installation the caulk has separated from the window frames leaving huge gaps for water intrusion when the winter storms hit. I'm having large portions of my house remodeled next month. The remodel contractor took one look at my windows and asked what amateur hacked up my house? He said the installation may not even be up to current building codes. He's working up a quote to fix the problems and I've got a good mind to sue Evans Glass for the cost of the fix; I won't let Evans fix the problem because their solution is to just apply more caulk which will crack and separate within a few years anyway. Bottom line....DO NOT let Evans Glass talk you into their 'Retrofit' solution. You will be VERY unhappy with the result.
