Re: Amerimax - any feedback from SanFrancisco Bay Area users?
I sell Amerimax in Southern California - Los Angeles / Orange County area and like the window. It use to be my #1 window but have switched to Milgard and Simonton but still sell the Amerimax if homeowner wants it. I would say make sure you buy your Amerimax from a good dealer. Get a few quotes and d...

Re: Bryn Mawr Warranty for 1995 Installations
For those that bought Certainteed windows on the West Coast. Contact Ply Gem for warranty
Certainteed sold its plants to Ply Gem in California.
Ply Gem sells the Premium 1000 now - which is a redesigned Bryn Mawr

Re: Intercept Spacer vs Super spacer
We are down to Simonton 5500 and are in the spacer debate. The Intercept is the older, aluminum/tin U-channel and we don't want that. The SuperSpacer has been around for a while and is a successful all foam spacer. The new Supercept is a combination of the two ideas. It has a stainless steel U-chan...

I wish you would have found this website before you had a problem. Just searching Renewal by Anderson you would have found out this is common. Sorry for your problems. If you can post the pictures then other customers would see what kind of work they do.

Re: Windows for S.CA -SilverLine, Milgard or Simonton?
I would look at the Milgard Tuscany with 3DMAX and the Simonton 7300 with lowe366 and argon. I would also have a certified dealer of either install the windows so there won't be any warranty problems with the install. I would stay away from Silverline. Read the other comments on Silverline on this f...

Re: Warranty Comparison
I am in California and see a lifetime labor warranty on most windows sold here. Other parts of the country have different labor warranties. Milgard, Simonton, Anlin, Superior, Green World, Ply Gem, Atrium are the big ones with lifetime labor. Amerimax is 20 years. Pella, Jeldwen have like 2 years. A...

Re: Certainteed/Viwinco Windows Poor Quality and Warranty
Certainteed was sold to MI in the Midwest/East Coast area and Plygem on the West Cost area. Ply Gem warranty is the same as Certainteed which is lifetime warranty with labor 1st owner. There is no glass breakage through Ply Gem. Tranfereable only 5 years.

Re: EPA lead paint policy impact to window replacement project
If you have questions call the local EPA office in your state. They have a information officer that should answer all you questions.
Some states do not allow for lead testing without state certification. California is one that I know of but there might be others.

Re: Is painted vinyl reliable?
The warranty on painted or capped windows is limited. Make sure you read the part of the warranty for the exterior finish. Most only give 10 year warranty. Some don't give any labor at all so you will be paying for labor if something goes wrong.

Re: What's the Real Difference between Simonton Windows??
In California the Impressions 7300 is the best line in my option. Maximum glass space is what most of my customers are looking for.
The Verona line is their bottom end line and made for new construction. I am seeing dealers selling it as Simonton's good line.
