Having dealt with all the windows and manufacturers on your list, I'd go with the Sunrise. Provia (formerly Precision / Sugarcreek) is a door company, windows aren't their main business. Sunrise is a great window and a great company, and aesthetically their frame allows for the most glass space of t...

I've sat on the sideline through this one, and let others comment on the Schuco situation. I'm a (now former) Schuco dealer in a large Midwestern market. For the record I also sell Four Seasons Sunrooms. What Schuco has done to their dealers is flat out unethical, immoral and possibly illegal. To co...

I have met the guys at FJB once. I know its a family run operation and that they have been in the busines for a long time and have a well established and well respected reputation within the industry. They aren't a fly by night operation by any respect...

Good Luck!

nmetro You didn't mention whether your windows were white or woodgrain, as there is about a 20% difference in price between the two. Schuco's inline slider is more expensive and really can't be compared to any other slider from any other manufacturer. Its simply better engineered and outperforms any...

For about $35 in most states you can file a suit in small claims court. Unquestionably you will win, especially if you can prove with your postmarks that you complied with the law in your state. You'll even recover your filing fee. Companies such as this are betting that you will do one of the follo...

The Schuco inline slider is: 1.) more expensive than a traditional sliding window, but much better built than anything else on the market. 2.) more difficult to install, so the labor to the crew is more expensive. Schuco recently raised their prices to their dealers 8%, they also have a fuel surchar...

Sounds to me like they might be afraid of their competition...

Kimmer The Schuco quote you got is awfully high. If you liked the Schuco window (and why wouldn't you) there are other options in Minneapolis. If you Google Schuco in Minneapolis you'll find an answer. Also you should use the "Request a Quote" button on the top of this site. It woul...

The Schuco in line slider, in addition to requiring extra attention from the installer as mentioned by Randy -- also really needs a quick operation lesson for the homeowner after installation. If you don't know what you are doing, the sash will fall out in your hands and it can be tricky to put back...

My criteria are: 1.) Overall product quality. 2.) Speed of delivery of product -- how long do I have to wait for delivery from the time I place an order. 3.) After installation service policy -- does the manufacturer provide their own service person, or will they reimburse me for my time performing ...

Beware of brown vinyl

:!:

If color is an issue, go with one of the painted exterior products rather than the extruded brown vinyl. Its going to fade.

Not to get overly technical, but tell your rep you want glass package number 406 -- and you'll avoid the above mentioned problem.

I kind of thought that was the one you'd mention. I've seen that new Soft lite window, and it is impressive -- but not in the same league as a Schuco IMHO. In the interest of full disclosure, Softlite has been trying to get me to carry it and drop Schuco as my premium line. Superspacer vs TPS -- adv...

Novice,
What window was your second choice? Some of us would like to verify those numbers...

Again, you won't go wrong with your choice. You'll be absolutely thrilled with your decision.
