A Good Window Choice.

I recently used this forum in my research for a good replacement window. Like many people who come to this site, I knew very little regarding windows and initially got more confused while reviewing all the information found on this site. I am by no means an expert at this point but I feel I received...

Traco Power ll windows

Can anyone provide me with information on the Traco Power ll window. This window has an aluminum exterior and a vinyl interior. Is this a good performing window? Where would it rate in comparison to a top grade vinyl replacement window? The reason it appeals to me is the narow frame and sash which i...

slim vinyl frame

I have been researching replacement windows for several weeks now and have come down to three manufactures (Simonton, Alside and Gorell). I’m looking at the top of the line series for each of these window manufactures but have yet to get specs on which window has the most slim sash and frame. Most o...

Thank you for the info. This forum is definitely an excellent place to educate oneself before making the plunge into new windows. Do you have any knowledge of Simonton windows. I posted a message seeking info on which Simonton is the top of the heap.

Kripton and Argon

A window dealer told me that Kripton gas works best with triple pain glass. It has something to do with the manner in which the gas compresses in smaller (tighter) areas. He said Argon is actually better in double pain than Kripton. Can someone provide me with a little layman's information on this s...

Simonton's Generations 6000 vs the 9800

I was under the impression that the Simonton 9800 was the top of the line series for Simonton. But now I'm told the 6000 (Generations series) is the top. Can someone please set me straight and also let me in on the differences between these two series.

Thanks

Thank you for you reply. I have been considering the option of Foam Wrap on the window frames when I make my window purchase. I have been told it will assist in ensuring a well insulated install. What's your opinion?

window installation

When reading my questions please keep in mind that I am a novice in this field. I have read over and over again the need for proper istallation of windows and I certainly agree. Just how much is there for an installer to screw-up. Again, this is coming from a novice but other than ensuring the windo...

I have a contractor offering me Alside Ultramaxx windows with Super Spacers, Clima Tech Plus & 2 = Low E Squared and Argon Gas. Are all these options available in an Ultramaxx window from Alside?

tripple glass vs. double glass questions

First off let thank all you window experts for your postings. Like many others have stated I too have learned a tremendous amount regarding what's good/bad about replacement windows. However I still have some additional questions. I live in St Louis Missouri and I'm replacing 22 windows in my house....
