I had Marvin aluminum clad wood windows in my last house and they were fantastic. Not cheap, but I thought they were worth the price.

It seems to me that if Schuco is going to charge that much you could probably get Aluminum clad wood windows from Marvin. I had Marvins in my last home and they were fantastic.

Entry door tolerances.

Is there a standard for how tight an entry door should fit? If there is a standard what is it? I have an entry door that needs to be replaced and it is leaking water at the bottom big time.

That composite window by Anderson has been shredded by people on this board that know a lot more about it than me. As a result, I would stay away from it. Much better values are out there.

I wish they had a dealer in the Dallas area. They have an Integrity dealer but not an Infinity dealer. Can't figure out why.

Why would anyone ever use anything but a sloped sill? It seems like a no brianer to eliminate areas that would collect debris.

Why do dealers sell certain products and not others?

I am going to be looking at thermally broken windows to do my project this next fall. What I am wondering is why is there no dealer for the Marvin Infinity line in Dallas? It seems like a good product but no one carries it here. What goes into the decision by a dealer to carry one brand over another...

I built a home here in Dallas in 1997 and put in aluminum clad wood windows by Marvin with an antisolar hear coating. They were fabulous. My AC costs were about 60 percent of what my neighbors had with their aluminum builder windows. I think they were worth every cent. Ten years is a lot of technolo...

I don't know much about windows but

thank goodness for the people that are the experts on this board. However I have been around real estate a lot and you are right on your decision to go middle of the road in this residence. If you go high end the property probably won't support that price increase and you lose out. Middle of the roa...

Thank you very much for the information. Do you know if the thermal performance and tightness is the same for these two window lines. I am going to go with double or single hung. How do you think the Infinity product compares to a thermally broken aluminum window? I ask this because I had a window d...

Contacted Marvin about the difference between Integrity and

Infinity windows. They are made of the same material but Marvin says the Infinity is for the replacement market and Integrity is for the new construction market. Can anyone tell me what the difference can be? Thanks in advance.
