Re: Thermalator sash replacement HELP

It is about a 99% likelihood that you would, as a default, have to stay with the same sash.

Re: Soft-lite barrington or Polaris Ultraweld

+1

In their respective line ups, the UW should be compared with the LS from Soft-Lite.

HomeSealed's other feedback is spot on.

Re: Milgard Style-line thoughts?

+1 to Randy's feedback.

We only ever used the Tuscay (sloped sill) and the few jobs that we did with the Auto-Lock all seemed to have issues. I am not a fan of the auto locks either.

Re: Window Quote for Minnesota

The Restorations line is a very, very solid performer as well.

You will often here that window, the Elements, and the upper end Okna all mentioned in the same breath. Can't go wrong with anyone from that line up.

Happy 4th of July!!!

Haven't see anything from them of late as they aren't on my coast, but they were quality at the time.

Re: Replacement Windows and Installation: Question & Opinion

When folks are talking about frame depth, they are talking about the unit size of the frame and that does not include the screen track in this case.

Re: Window Quote for Minnesota

I arrive at $19,110 based on the numbers you provided in the previous post. Still a good chunk of change, but is anyone else quoting triple pane here? They are and if you are wanting a fair comparison, you have to at least get them to quote you double pane or to get the other folks to spec as triple...

Re: Window Quote for Minnesota

The Element is the hands down winner. I imagine that a guy selling and Elements window is probably concerned with performance and the like. That being the case, he would be my first pick for overall based on that logic.

Re: Where to start????

I wish I did as well too.

I love TN and the Nashville area.

I think HomeSealed has you steered in the right direction on looking at some of the better brands.

Re: Replacement Windows and Installation: Question & Opinion

There is usually still enough room if you crab the screw at an angle back into the framing.

We do it all the time and while the blind will be a bit proud of the trim, you can usually get them to fit back and not require replacement.

Re: Do I need full-frame replacement, and how do I vet the quote?

Should be easy enough to clarify, but I can't imagine that $123 included trim and the trim can almost never be reused effectively. You spend more time messing with it than just cutting it out and re-doing it.
