Re: Need a good window install in Cincinnati

Can be frustrating process when you think you understand what you need and what you want and a consultant has a process that they follow. Kind of an unfortunate no win scenario on that case as the consultant needs to follow their process as prescribed by the company. This is the only true way to cre...

Re: exterior caulking a maintenance item?

We can definitely help point you in the right direction, but we are going to need some better pictures. If you want to email me, feel free to do so: enovotny@windowsonwashington.net Need more of the exterior where the capping meets the brick (sill and head) as well as the mullions between the window...

Re: Baywindow Install - Some Advice??

I would do a local search on siding and trim installers. A window guy won't want to come out and cap someone else's window install.

Re: Baywindow Install - Some Advice??

We'd call that a Palladian window if it were one section and a Large Picture with a mulled half round in your case here where it's two windows. Don't want to hamstring them too much here without seeing the previous measurements and what the size needed to be, but the couple things you mention are so...

Re: exterior caulking a maintenance item?

Any chance we can see some picture of the exterior? What kind of window came out before the new unit went in?

Re: Need a good window install in Cincinnati

Start with looking for what are routinely thought of as the quality vinyl and fiberglass brands in your region.

Soft-Lite, Sunrise, Okna, Polaris in vinyl.

Marvin, InLine, Fibertec in fiberglass.

Re: Window companies in the dallas, texas area?

Ultra Window out of Houston Texas knows the Texas market. I would see what he says.

Window World is generally not thought of as a premium product vendor. Perhaps the house you were in before got a good crew on that day. The installs can be very hit or miss.

Re: Okna DH800 install question

Sleeping off a hangover in the truck is not a mark of a professional to be sure. Pictures are not as bad as I would have done if I were nursing a hangover to be honest. If there are issues of fitment, level, reveals, etc., those should all be addressed by the installation company. Caulking isn't the...

Re: Okna DH800 install question

Why do you think the install was "lackluster" in this case. The installation methodology that you reference is a recognized application by the AAMA and their Installation Masters application. The fact that they used the OSI systems components and did spray foam is already an indication tha...
