Re: Okna or ForceV Enviromental (Schuco)
Randy, Softlite has a great product line. We mainly sold the Imperial LS and customers really seemed to like it. However, we had to many glass issues with them so we switched to OKNA windows. We are mainly selling the Starmark line (cellular composite). We have been very pleased with the product and...

Re: Good deal or not really? Opinions from pros/dealers, please!
One cannot say an exact percentage more for Starmark simply because all companies have different amounts of overhead to cover. Installation is a huge factor to consider as well. Our labor is more than some companies that use sub-contractors because we have full-time hourly employees with FULL benefi...

Re: Good deal or not really? Opinions from pros/dealers, please!
Note that Starmark can NOT be compared to a regular vinly replacement window in which are the other products you mentioned. Cellular composite is a much more expensive material than standard vinyl, better insulated and more durable than rigid vinyl. All the clients we've been showing the Starmark wi...

Re: Soft-Lite ThermalGlide Patio Door
Thats a really fair price. Hope you don't live in a really cold climate though. We installed a 12' soft-lite thermal glide last year with the ultraS glass package (triple-pane, lowE on two-panes, argon gas and super spacer) and had ice forming on the interior at bottom of end panels.

Re: Question about Alside Excalibur - Umpeenth Time
Pulling teeth or getting a REAL whole window u-factor, the teeth may be far easier to get accomplished. Alside Excalibur, double-hung, LowE, Argon, intercept spacer or super spacer, What IS the actual u-factor? Gotta be a pro on here who sells it. Maybe it does NOT qualify for the tax credit and why...

Re: Question about Alside Excalibur - Umpeenth Time
Window Purchaser, Are You SURE the Alside Excalibur has a .30 or lower u-factor? I've spent much time on NFRC.org researching this window and the best u-factor I seen was a .31 and that was with the super spacer upgrade. Is Your info coming from a commisioned salesperson or actual certified, tested ...

Re: Soft-Lite? Okna?
dpcat, Bainbridge has double weather stripping on sides of sashes while Okna 500 has triple. Also, if you look at the exterior of the masterframes I think You'll find that the Okna 500 looks more atractive. Welds on the 500 may look a little neater too. I heard Okna just invested over a million doll...

Re: OKNA Windows, U-Factor .15
Does the starmark operate up & down fairly smooth? Do your installers like installing the starmark? I imagine with triple pane you'd need a crane to move um. I felt just the weight of the cut away and was quite impressed, They look like a really solid window. Its just that we are VERY cautious w...

Re: OKNA Windows, U-Factor .15
Krypton and WOW thanks for the info. Have either one of you sold or installed the product? WOW, I met with our soft-lite rep yesterday and he told us that the duralite spacer really isn't proven yet. He did'nt really seem to push it, maybe because the cost is more than the super spacer we've been bu...
