Sounds like side load balance
clip is put in open at bottom then popped in at top.
could use a small screw to do the same
remove it after install so it doesnt break balance later
we use stry-buc or swisco for parts
you can too

Just epoxied andersen frenchwoods back together clamped overnight four sets all delaminating and out of warranty by two years
cust paid 600 instead of 6000 to replace all panels.

Maybe black capping on a white window would be an effective solution

Several times customers would say I dont need the tempeed glass due to cost

PVC Bond is offered in black
Foil Laminate is offered in Antique Bronze
Foil Laminate has a stippled or striated finish

SoftLite offers PVC Bond or Foil Laminate both are warrantied against fading peeling flaking for ten years
PVC Bond can be touched up
PVC Bond is slightly more expensive than Foil
I prefer Beige color option
It is more affordable too

Sounds more like a slider window. The lockset keeper is adjustable. It could be misaligned and you are forcing the sashes apart. It should lock easily. Check end gaps as sash enters frame reveal gap should be perfectly even top to bottom. If not then frame is not level and plumb. The sash rollers ar...
