Re: Replacing Casement & Awning windows in CT
They mentioned something about that, but I didn't know when. I would like to plan to attend. I toured the plant in Connecticut and I was impressed with their automation and I know they are talking of automating their Euro line now in South Carolina. I would like to see that. Tilt and turns and Frenc...

Re: Advanced Window in Chicago
There are reasons to sell you one brand versus another. Quality can vary greatly depending on the window manufacturer. You will have to take into consideration of all of the benefits and there are many little nuances that can make a difference. However you hit it on the nose.... Even if it is the be...

Re: Need advice on window brands and egress issue
I would still look into the Force V product if I were you. I sell there impact product in Florida and these are big, heavy double hungs that are insulated and use laminated glass. Their regular double hungs come in a 13/16th or 1 inch glass thickness and are of very high quality. They are typically ...

Re: Window wonder?
If you are looking at who makes the window's website the information is usually collected so that they can feed the lead to a dealer in your area. Typically a dealer will then contact you and you can specify that you would rather come see their showroom versus them coming to you. Most will not want ...

Re: Another casualty of market downturn
Hey Window4udid you see Kensingto shut their doors as well? They called employees Sunday night and told them not to show up on Monday that they had closed the doors. Many casualties in this market.

Re: Replacing Casement & Awning windows in CT
1. Considering the different mechanics of casement & awning windows, is it OK to use replacements? Replacements should be fine. Just make sure you get the right contractor. 2. What is your opinion of the Alside Excalibur window? If on strict budget this is a more affordable window. Their are man...

Re: Need advice on window brands and egress issue
You may want to look into the old Schuco brand window. They were bought out by a company now called Force V Environmental. They have tilt and turn windows and French windows that are great for Egress and have compression gasket seals for excellent air and water ratings unlike the traditional double ...

Re: Ever heard of this?
Actually if both spouses are named on the deed and only one signs a home improvement contract (for Florida, not sure of laws in other states) they can technically back out of contract and not pay once installed and the contractor has no recourse or lien rights. With that being said I still do presen...
