Ok, I'm just going to repeat you a little so I understand and don't get mixed up. You like the Great Lakes, Seabrook Double Hungs but you don't like their bay or bow window. You like Ellison's bay and bow windows better. Am I correct so far? Do you like Ellison's double hung?

YES SALES PITCH

Yes indeed these are sales pitches. Every salesman has a bottom number they won't go below, and it's far down from their companies list price. They can say all kinds of things to make you believe this is a once in a lifetime offer (fishing). Cold hard facts, they will come down to certain point no m...

This is a tough question. Most Lifetime warranties only pertain to the actual frame and any other componenets except the glass unit. Most companies that advertise 'Lifetime Warranty" are referring to their window frame, sahes, hardware and ect. The warranty on their glass units vary fron the ot...

I'm not sure what your poposal to this question is. Are you telling this person to get a building inspector first and foremost? I can understand if that is what you're saying. Who should this person see to get a non-bias inspection? If I had to guess those Andersen windows were put in new constructi...

You're absolutely right. Figure out what you want and then go after that. That is a good way to narrow it down a bit. I agree.

I took a look at all of their warranties. I like Great Lakes the best. That's just my opinion. Of course you need a lawyer to read through these things. The gist of it sounded better than the other two. That could be a way to look at it, because you are right it is apples to apples. All three window...

If the two brands you are looking at are very similar, I would go with the company that you know does good work. Is you sister happy with her new windows and the job the company did? If so maybe think about those windows. If the bay window doesn't look right to you, try looking at their bow windows....

Hip, If you're going to buy something and you're going to be stuck with it, You know you have to sign a contract. You better do the research. Spending a month or two looking at all the windows in Buffalo would be worth it to know I will be getting the best for my money (maybe I should come work ther...

Guy you are 100% correct you need to get somebody who knows what their doing to install. I figured that was a no brainer. I don't think you can get enrgy star certified without NFRC ratings. Speak to this person who's buying the windows, give him advice. I don't need the advice and I'm sure you don'...

You started an all-out bidding war now. I'm not partial. Sir, you do get what you pay for. If you think Window World's windows are comparable to Sears then I say get them. They're not I'm sure. I'm not trashing them, They have good products too. They are just not offering you their top-of-the-line f...

I agree with the above user. Definitely look at all options and do your research. I'll add to it with a joke, you can't just give back windows if you're not happy with them without some big court battle. The pressure of salesmen can put you in a position you don't want to be, making a decision witho...

Other members have valid points. You have to decide what pay means to you. If the question is will I see a difference in utilities? The answer is, it seriously depends on the vinyl replacement you choose. Yes there are vinyl replacements that will out-perform any other window in every test thrown at...
