Oberon,there is also "duralite",a higher end version of duraseal with no metal in the adhesive..
as for tin plated,how could it be less durable than stainless,what are a few concievable ways?

i wonder if Anderson uses "saw dust" combined with pvc so it expands and contracts LESS than all cellular pvc? because if a saw dust/pvc mixture still expands and contracts the same as pvc,the mechanical fasteners are prone to air infiltration.

whats interesting is that PPG's website mentions stainless steel or tin plated steel. i would imagine most window manufacturer's who use intercept are actually using a tin plated spacer opposed to stainless steel due to cost savings.. as Oberon stated though,tin plated is not as durable as stainless...

foam filled frame does help with noise reduction..what really helps is a triple pane glass package.

extra 12 bucks is nothing..i prefer a foam filled frame. it does add some insulation but also adds to noise reduction. overall,its a good thing and for an extra 12 bucks, you just can't go wrong.

superseal keeps responding and claiming his u-value is .24 but NEVER mentions if its triple pane. my guess is that it is. superseal is an average window at best,. their overall thickness on the vinyl is a .062. this is for their so called top of the line. also the window seems to have a dark tint to...
