Re: Questions about Replacement windows vs. Hurricane windows

In his defense, I was speaking to the salesman. He is a retired gentleman that works on salary (prob low because he can only make so much after retirement). He does not do the installations now and I figure that his experience is dealing with the first vinyl product on the market and most of his exp...

Re: Experts please rate the best option for my situation

* I meant to say have been told. Also I have a little advice from a window newbie who has done at least 30 hours of research in the last three days. Your bids seem to be all over the place because everyone specs something different out. You need to read the material in the education center on this s...

Re: Experts please rate the best option for my situation

I see that his home is pre-1978. I have told and have not yet verified because My house is not in question but as of 4/22/10 he will be subjected to the new mold remediation act where a window installer must receives a certificate saying his home passed inspection before they can work on his home. I...

Re: Questions about Replacement windows vs. Hurricane windows

I did ask him about the installation process. I asked him if he sprays foam insulation and he Never use foam with Vinyl windows because it expands with the heat and will shift the vinyl. Is this correct?

Re: Questions about Replacement windows vs. Hurricane windows

Oh, I am sorry for the confusion. No, this quote is NOT for non impact glass. I am still waiting for those numbers. From what I understand, his Simonton "Coastal Living" product is most similar to reflections he compared it to Gorrel's Eco Master. We have vinyl siding but not much of it. I...

Re: Questions about Replacement windows vs. Hurricane windows

Your sight is a God send. It has taken me from Window Hell to window purgatory. Today is the first time that I have met with a company sales rep. and have felt that I wasn't being fed something I did not want to eat! The gentleman worked for a local reputable small company. He was an installer (in t...

Our current windows have failed so we HAVE to replace them. Would it behoove us to invest in the hurricane windows since we are looking at replacing them ...
