Re: Simonton 5500 or PoFinish Brickmould 600

After a year of going with the 5500's, I can say that I made the right choice. The large bay windows are full sun. My front rooms used to be 10-15 degrees difference in temperature. Now, I can sit right next to the window and it feels the same as the rest of the house. The Windows open and shut very...

Re: Simonton 5500 or PoFinish Brickmould 600

I ended up going with the 5500's with the supercept and double strength glass. They should be in any day. Thanks for your help!

Re: Simonton 5500 or PoFinish Brickmould 600

I found out what happened and there was some confusion. The 250 was only for the left hinge side and there was a line item for 250 for the right hand side. So with the cost the same, which is a better window?

Re: Simonton 5500 or PoFinish Brickmould 600

I am looking to replace 6 casements. The Profinish brickmould 600 are $250 and the Simonton 5500 are $500. only 2 of the casements get a lot of sunlight. I am also going to replace 3 large bow windows with the 5500's but they all get direct sun most of the day.

Simonton 5500 or PoFinish Brickmould 600

On a quote on one of the Simonton dealers he quoted the ProFinish Brickmould 600 and the Simonton 5500. The Brickmould 600 was half the price and still qualifies for the tax credit. Is the 5500 worth double the price? The ProFinish Brickmould quoted are all casements with the supercept, Low E Softco...

Re: Custom size window for DIY project

I did go with the Simonton 5500 casements. I went ahead and upgraged to the super spacer and low E 366 instead of the prosolar package that they quoted. The windows are very nice and the casement work very well. The low E 366 gives a tint to the window. The window worked so well that I am now upgrad...

Custom size window for DIY project

I am having problems finding the size of window that I need. The current window is 100w and 78h. I currently have a small sag and in the old current window and need to put in supports so the roof will stop sagging so much. Does anybody know a manufacturer that makes windows that large? I actually ne...
