Re: Window Quote Help

I would ask for pricing on the ThermalWeld plus, I personally like this unit better than the UltraWeld
The pricing you got is excellent perhaps a little low?

Re: MA - New to Windows, help with brands

You’re pricing could very well be reasonable for materials only depending on which window and option.

Re: Window Quote Help

To be clear, I was assuming the ThermalWeld quote was for the ThermalWeld Plus. The Old ThermalWeld is Now the DynaWeld with a rollformed screen which replaced the ValueSmart.

Re: Window Quote Help

I see no advantage going to the UltraWeld, plus it’s more money. I would consider upgrading to the stainless spacer , maybe triple pane.
What was the difference in warranty?
Pricing seems in the ballpark, but there are no details to judge it by.

Re: Okna 700 Quote

Hard to say on the installed window cost , but the triple pane upgrade is dirt cheap as a stand alone line item.

Re: ProVia, OKNA, Simonton, or Reliabilt

The ProVia seems way to low and the Okna seems way high. I get the feeling I am missing something.

Re: Simonton, Ply Gem or Alside

Seems I am having problems reading between the lines.
I’d say the installation and the company are the cake, the Okna would be the icing.

Re: Simonton, Ply Gem or Alside

Just because the Simonton is an older design does not mean it it is made from a lower grade of vinyl or. Is using cheap parts, I do not see it’s performance shrinking anymore than the Okna or some other top performer. I would understand decreasing performance with the Sunrise as the frame and the sa...

Re: Simonton, Ply Gem or Alside

If you’re budget is that tight I would have no problem with the 5500. Putting it in the category of “some “ builder grade junk is a bit harsh and incorrect IMO.
