Also, make sure they are replacing the whole sill, not just cutting off the rotted part and scabbing a fresh piece on the front. I totally disagree. If a sill nose is rotten then tearing the entire sill out is unneeded and can seriously weaken the mortised joint where the sill and jamb meet. Cuttin...

I am going to be replacing some standard DH windows. About 3 of the 7 window sills have water damage. While it only costs about $40/sill to replace an old one, do you typically just replace all of them or simply replace the bad ones. And what about matching them up? I'm assuming it is not a big dea...

It depends on which Alside model you are looking at. Their Sheffield model is by far the best vinyl double hung that I have ever worked with. I have installed literally thousands of vinyl windows. Most of them were the Excalibur from Alside but also a lot of X-act windows. I worked as a sub contract...
