You mentioned Feldco. They have been solving customers window problems in the midwest for 40 years. They certainly have satisfied a great deal of people over the years. They have also recently been rated as one of the top rated window and door companies in the country.

You absolutely do not want your replacement windows protruding further than the outside surface. You will be better served giving up some of your inside area and have them installed within the openining.

They are both reputable manufacturers and they both make quality products. The major deciding factor is who you are getting the widows from and their experience in your market. As manufacturers we can only design them, fabricate them, and make sure they meet or exceed industry standards.

You never mentioned what style of windows you have ie. double hung, slider, casement, etc. Inside and outside pics. will also help to analyze the problem.

When I measure for replacement windows I follow these guidelines. Measure the width from jamb to jamb. My experience has been that altering a frame to facilitate installation is the exception rather tha the rule. A replacement window is 3.25" in depth. Depending on when the home was built and where it is located may determine if alterations need to be made for reccomended installation. Many jamb...

PGT is a Florida manufacturer with 1000's of windows produced in that state. Depending on where you live in Florida you may have to consider a hurricane rated replacement window. PGT is Miami Dade certified and is very familiar with the state codes for all coastal applications.
