Re: Window or Installation - which matters more?
He had Gorell for high end. For middle, he had the Harvey line. Any thoughts on Mercury?

Window or Installation - which matters more?
A window store that sold both high and low end windows said that they all perform the same, as long as they are installed properly. He felt that paying more for a high end window was a complete waste of money (even though he sold them). Is this true? He suggested Mercury windows as a best value. Tho...

Re: Harvey Tribute vs. Gorell and/or Okna?
I am going to look at the Okna and Gorell before making a final decision. I have gotten several prior quotes. The only other one I was considering was the Harvey Classic - same job for $7k. But since the Tribute is better, the $1k more seemed worthwhile. Please let me know if I am off base on this. ...

Re: Harvey Tribute vs. Gorell and/or Okna?
Installer is Better Homes Window & Siding. They have an A+ BBB rating, with no complaints in the last 36 months. They have been in business since 1985. They said they will stand behind the product for the full warrantee period, which is 20 years on the glass and lifetime on the frame. So they se...

Re: Harvey Tribute vs. Gorell and/or Okna?
So how much more should I expect to pay for Gorell or Okna? Is the Okna Envirostar good?

Harvey Tribute vs. Gorell and/or Okna?
Just got a quote for 14 double-hung Harvey Tribute Windows, plus one bay window and one slider for $8k (capping included). This seems like a good price, right? But should I still try to investigate Gorell and Okna? I see a lot of people on this forum seem to like Gorell and Okna. But I am in CT, so ...

Re: Rite Window of New England?
Never mind - they do not service CT. Too bad. I really liked that they were up front about pricing, rather than the "free in home estimate", which is really just a time consuming, annoying sales pitch.

Rite Window of New England?
Does anyone have any experience with Rite Window of New England? They list the prices on their website, which is very refreshing, after taking more than an hour to get a price out of salesmen coming to the house. They are charging $389 installed for a Gorell 5100. Seems like a good price, right? But...

Re: Help in CT!
The HR40 is sold by Peoples Products - it is the heat mirror window. That salesman quoted me 16k for the job if I signed up immediately, but over 23k after that night. I hate that high pressure sales pitch - that makes me rule them out. And that price seems ridiculous when I had quotes for 5k and 7k...

Re: Help choosing windows in CT
Thank you, buddy110! Is the Gorell or Okna a lot more expensive than the Harvey? What would be a reasonable price for those? Is $370/window a good price for Harvey (including capping)?
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

Help choosing windows in CT
I want to replace 15 windows (including one bay) and one patio door in my home in South Windsor, CT. But every window salesman who comes out has a different story and I am afraid they are all lying! I have gotten quotes ranging from 5k (Alside Excalibur) - 15k (HR40). I don't want top of the line, b...
