I have Andersen Perma-Shield, Gliding Windows that were installed in 1973. On the glass is the marking- 12 AW 72 XI. Why not service the window and replace the weatherstripping? If there is no rot and the windows are otherwise fine, address the issue at hand. Is that something I can do myself? There are vinyl (?) strips and other types of insulators adhered to the sash and frame. They would all need to be replace...
