Re: Window repair question....

Is 1 coat of primer and 1 coat of paint enough or does it need another coat? Some said 2 or more coats but when I explain what my project is they said 1 is enough so I'm not sure if they know about the paint or just guessing....Thanks.

Re: Window repair question....

I was told to sand the bare wood, prime it with KILZ Premium 1-Gal. Water-Based White Interior/Exterior Primer, Sealer and Stain-Blocker, then paint it with latex paint just one coat and that's it.....was that a good advice? Thanks.

The brickmold already got prime on it (from Home Depot) and I paint it one coat with exterior Semi-gloss Latex paint (from Wal-Mart) so it ...

Re: Simonton 5500, Wincore 7700, or Sunrise?

Not sure of the details, but $600 sounds like an "installed" price, whereas $250-$300 would be cash and carry(window only). I'd say that the Sunrise is the "cream of that crop", but all 3 should not be far off in pricing..... If you can get a Simonton 5500 installed at $300, tha...

Simonton 5500, Wincore 7700, or Sunrise?

I have been doing many research online on windows. I looked at America Crafts (Home Depot) and Pella (Lowes) they seem ok but many reviews recommended to avoid them. One of the local supplies carry Simonton, Wincore, and Sunrise. I like the Simonton 5500 and Wincore 7700. I was not able to look at S...
