Re: Plygem Premium vs. SoftLite Imperial LS vs. Simonton 6500 HD

I have decided to go with the Imperial LS with full screens. The Softlite rep here in KC is very personable and understands our needs. Overall, the LS just seems more solid and worth the extra money, even though I won't be here in this house for more than 5 years. The dealer understood my concerns w...

Re: Plygem Premium vs. SoftLite Imperial LS vs. Simonton 6500 HD

How can I make sure I get the stainless in the plygem. Just spoke with the vendor 10 minutes ago and he said I was being quoted the Warm Edge+ which comes with the HPmax and energy package. I just also discovered that PlyGem is not AAMA certified on the website. Can I find it under another produst n...

Plygem Premium vs. SoftLite Imperial LS vs. Simonton 6500 HD

After reviewing multiple forums, I am asking for the opinions of eveyrone else still reading. (That means you WoW, anthony Skydawggy and all the others)! As mentioned in other threads, I am replacing 13 windows in my home in Kansas. Most of the windows face intense sun, and I have to block most of t...

Re: Triple pane versus Double and tempering value

Thanks for your input. A salesperson mentioned that tempering adds 20% additional to the cost of the window. Is that correct? Also, can you temper just the lower half of a double hung? I am assuming the 20% is for both panes being tempered.

I am getting ready to purchase new windows for my 16 year-old house in the KC area. We have hot summers and cold winters.
