Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Update - The 11 Sunrise Ultra Plus 12 (LoE-366) contoured grids windows and full screens were installed today and they look great. Interestingly the SHGC is actually lower on the NFRC tag than listed on the website (.19 vs .21). The windows all facing West noticeably knocked down the strong afternoo...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Okay I am back after a long delay in the window purchasing process. I got sidelined by renovating a master bath which took longer, and was more expensive, than anticipated. Long story short, ended up purchasing Sunrise Windows for $6250 (before rebate), after almost getting the Simonton 5500 (for ab...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

another quick question, almost ready to place order, got sidetracked with work demands, Question is on trim coil wrap, spouse says wrap trim coil to match existing trim (kinda an off-white, light antique parchment like color), I prefer matching the trim coil to the white windows even if rest of hous...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Many thanks, called Simonton to confirm and they said factory default for 32x62 size window is 9x9 (2H2W in each glass unit) with 11/16 inch grid size, contoured of course, totally agree on that.

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Okay good on spacer issue. What is your professional view about 9over9 versus 6over6 grill patterns, any views on this from a design point of view and any view on 5/8 versus 1 inch width. I see some windows with 9over9 and some with 6over6, some with 5/8 some contours, some with 7/8 contours, or som...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Spacer options: Supersept or Superspacer? Have had Simonton built with LoE366 glass, grids etc. Another question though: they have me with superspacer, is supercept a be better option with internal grids, I saw on another board where lots of you pros post that Supersept might be better with internal...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Bill - I am assuming that this is price for painted exterior option, and that is added to the Simonton Window (whether it is the Prism or 5500) as you configured it for me earlier in the post grateful because you were the first to say: hey upgrade to 366 and get all of this other stuff included in t...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

The cream color is from the Simonton Decorum line, believe it is factory applied coating/paint just to outside of window. As for the Sunrise, yes spoke to the rep, last dealer went out of business and only one dealer in the area and next closest one is about 60 miles away. Guys, please do not get me...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Eco, Bill, WoW, Homesealed or Delaware Mike, Thanks for all your advice. I have settled on the Simonton, in part because the readily availabe nature of them in my area. Lots of folks in my neighborhood have replaced with Simonton, if they did not use RNA, Pella or Marvin. Simonton may not be the bes...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Homesealed - I do not think we are in disagreement at all and I took no offense whatsoever. I merely used the term niche for the term premium for which I meant the same thing. So we really do agree. Many thanks. Eco - Agreed totally, but this is the issue with going with Sunrise or one of the other ...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Homesealed - Your motto from your business website" "A Window Line for Every Budget" This does not sound premium or niche or exclusive to me, as you ostensibly sell to all segments of the marketplace.

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

Delaware Mike - it is a lot of quotes because many early quotes did so without actually quoting what I asked for, the LoE366 glass package and a detailed estimate, even though I gave them a email or piece of paper with requested options down to color of trim wrap. I cannot imagine a Toyota or any ot...

Re: competent window installer in vabeach

WoW, installer just stated that it was the sunrise series not the essentials and did include the contoured grids and upgraded glass package the price. So to summarize, all with turn-key install (repair rot, wrap, haul-away, etc.), all with contoured grids and full screens for 10 DH 32x62 and 1 Fixed...
