I've decided on two Polaris Thermal Weld windows. One installer is offering me "standard glass (one coat low E)" or "XL glass (two coats low E)". Another installer would buy the windows from the same place in my city (there is only one that sells Polaris to installers in my city)...

Does anyone have any feelings about the Therma Weld vs Ultra Weld Polaris window? I know that the Ultra Weld is top of the line but do I really need it? Someone told me that they look "different" because they are "bulkier" or thicker. I don't think I'd like that. I got a price on...

I just got another quote for the Polaris windows. This man didn't recommend the Valu Smart ones and the quote was for two Polaris Ultra Weld replacement windows, double hung, contoured grids, with low E and Argon II, 1/2 screens, manufacturers life time warranty and 2 yrs on the labor. $716 total in...

He started with a price quote for the higher end Gorrell window and it was well over $2,000 for the two windows (I'm thinking $2300?). I said that I couldn't afford that and that's when he quoted for the Gorrell 5100 and the Polaris Value Smart. I think this guy is way too high.
