The only way to be sure is what InfoSponge recommended... Make sure your contract states krypton windows, and check the NFRC sticker on the windows when the they arrive, since it will say krypton there. What does your contract say, or have you not signed one yet? Better yet, if you haven't already s...

I found a possible answer as to why Andersen doesn't sell vinyl if they invented them from another poster on the OLD board... Author: anthony (---.proxy.aol.com) Date: 09-05-03 21:05 The Renewal by Andersen product is by far the best product on the market. Im laughing like crazy due to peoples belie...

Perhaps these windows do perform better when measured and installed correctly. I'm not a carpenter or anything, but just had a thought. Could they sort of build up the window openings so they fit better? The outside would be covered with window wrapping and maybe the inside covered with new window ...

This is the 2nd time that you posted this article on the board this week and then deleted it. Is it not a real article? Why do you keep posting and deleting :?: :?

Re: RBA

I am curious about the design changes that have been made. Could you elaborate please? I tried to look for the other posts on this site that I saw about recent changes but couldn't find them. The only ones that come to mind is a new Low-E 4 exterior coating that helps repel dirt, and a change-over ...

I have no information about someone to buy them, but from watching renovation shows, it's important that your contractor be VERY careful in removing the sashes, chains and weights. Good luck in selling them. There's probably a restoration buff or dealre out there for you and hopefully the folks who ...

My Schuco dealer showed me that article when I told him I was looking at RBA. Sounds like poor installation by a bad local contractor rather than RBA being a bad product. Plus, it's a 4-year old problem. Not to take away from tommy's problems because I know they're real, but let's hear from this cus...

$500 installed? That sounds like a great price. There was another post by someone about getting Schuco windows for about $430 each from the dealer without installation. Sounds like with installation you're getting a great deal. jdegeorge, at about $900 per window, sounds like it's a little high. I'v...

If there are gaps between the sashes and side jambs that means the frames are being pulled close to the window opening/framing. Sounds like the windows weren't measured properly and are too small for the opening.

Did they take a look at that?

Andersen invented the vinyl window? Then why don't they sell them? Doesn't make sense.

Re: Is this a good mid-Atlantic Schuco quote?

I am looking to install Schuco triple-pane w/krypton double hung windows and a couple of picture windows in an addition and got the following quote from an area dealer: This is WINDOWS ONLY, no installation $429 for each DH window that averages 36"w X 60"h and $7.46 per UI for a casement ...
