Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

I thought I should close out this thread with a finished product. It was a massive project, but I'm happy to say it is FINALLY done. I've posted some before/after pics. Thanks again to all the experts here, especially WoW and HomeSealed, for your input. Couldn't have done it without you guys... and ...

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Thanks again for all the help here. I'm going to stop promising that my next question will be the last. I have the windows in my garage now, and I'm starting to think more carefully about how to do the installation. (I know, this is completely backwards.) I will have to remove the aluminum frames, a...

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Thanks, guys. I'll start with 1.5 inches and work my way out from there. Eric, I'm starting to see the wisdom for your installation method (i.e. new construction windows with a nail flange). I've been reading about compression and sealants, and it seems the best way to create compression is screws s...

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Okay. Hopefully this will be the final question. The new windows are set to be delivered in a couple of days, but I won't begin work until May or so. As I've said, the existing windows have aluminum frames and appear to have been built by the (now defunct) Linford Brothers company. I'm assuming they...

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Thanks, Eric. I've sent a message again. Thanks too for giving me the title of my first ever country, fugitive-from-the-law song in your earlier post. "Get a gun and don't look back." I love it! :D

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

WoW (and others), I was out of town and just got back a couple of days ago, so I just now managed to send the message through your company. Since I think it might be of use to others I thought I'd also ask here on the forum how many cans of foam are typically needed per window. Most of mine are repl...

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Thanks, guys. A gun it is then. WoW, I will indeed email you to find out more about purchasing. Erm... how do I do that? Should I submit a request form on your company's website?

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Thanks, WoW. I think I'll pop off one of the windows and then decide on the best course of action. I know I said I had one more question, but if you don't mind I'd like to ask one more one more question. I saw the comments on the other topic about expanding foam. I've used the GS foam and it's not e...

Re: Stucco flange on siding--installation help please

Thanks again for the response. If I could trouble you with one more question, what is the minimum width for the stucco flange you would feel comfortable with? I had said that the cut back on the siding appeared to be 3/4 around the current windows but this was an estimate. I don't think I'll know fo...
