Re: Ok, last one...

I was told by the contractor he had called up the Soft-Lite rep for pricing on the elements window and since he had done so much volume this month and they like the fact that he sells mostly the Imperial LS, the rep offered it to him on this order at the same cost. "The Imperial LS is a much be...

Ok, last one...

I have a quote for 23 double hung Softlite Imperial LS windows installed for $504.50 each. Is this a good price?

Re: Quick show of hands...

I would like to start by thanking everyone who provided feedback. It was important to get the a view from someone who didn't have skin in the game. So we decided to go with Zen Windows Lotus/Softlite Pro product. I'll come back after the install to let y'all know how it went.

Re: Quick show of hands...

Okay, so survey says.... #2. I can see it and the ProVia doors are top shelf. Can anyone tell me why they wouldn't pick #1. It has the ProVia doors as well? I thought Insignia windows were pretty good.

Re: Quick show of hands...

Thank you... and in your opinion how much of a difference in ROI would there be in energy savings and/or home value between #2 & #3?

Quick show of hands...

I promise this will be my last post....(maybe)... I have narrowed the field to three choices: 1. Insignia windows & ProVia doors 2. Zen Windows (Nirvana, Solar LowE or Lotus) & ProVia doors 3. Simonton 5300/5500 & ThermaTru doors Fiscally the difference between the Simonton and the other...

Re: Recommendations for a good mid-grade DH in the Southesst

I'm located in Charlotte, NC. Would the Alside Mezzo be a good mid-grade window for $475-$525?

Recommendations for a good mid-grade DH in the Southesst

I could use a recommendation or two for a good middle of the road replacement window. I don't really like the quotes I have now and I could use some outside help. I was looking to spend between $475 and $525 per window installed. If I can keep it under $500 a window I can also replace a door or two....

That seems to be sound advice. Especially the snow boots. Thanks.

Re: Window Contractor recommendations in Charlotte, NC

Thank you for the feedback... I ended up getting five estimates from two different types of companies, Windows and doors only and Licensed Contractors. They are all in the same price range and the products seem to be about the same (double hung, two panes of glass), except one (double hung, triple p...

Window Contractor recommendations in Charlotte, NC

I know this is a pretty broad question but who would have ever thought making a decision on replacement windows would be frustrating, confusing, time consuming... So I thought this would be a good place to restart my quest. I want to replace all the windows in my 22 year old home. Currently the wind...
