Re: ProVia paint match - snow mist
Thanks for the replies! I was hoping someone may have had a Lowe's or Home Depot match the color already and had a close approximation. I think we will grab a few of the sample cards and see how close we can get that way.

Re: ProVia paint match - snow mist
I did ask them and they sent us a small paint swatch similar to what you would get from the paint store. Unfortunately, my better half may have accidentally tossed it with some junk mail. I was just thinking someone may have matched it before I went back to them again for another.

ProVia paint match - snow mist
All, again, thanks for the help I have gotten here on the forum. I ended up going with the same company that did my windows and replaced exterior doors with ProVia. Very happy with them, they really are very high quality. We got the snow mist colored doors. Wondering if any of the pros have gotten p...

Re: Replacement door time
Ok, had my window installer come out for a quote and he showed me the differences with the ProVia. Between that and going to seconds and surplus, I can see where the price difference comes in. With that being said, I also heard back from the first guy who quoted me on front door price so I can bette...

Re: Replacement door time
I definitely did not expect big box store doors to compare to the top of the line, just surprised at the price difference. The price difference between the quote on my Sunrise windows and window world was less than 2.5X more. Yeah, I don't know what the 6k quote product is, but I am certain it is no...

Re: Replacement door time
Is that just because of the cost of a door? I know Lowe's has a Jeld Wen steel door with window for $300 and seconds and surplus has a fiberglass one for $350. Lowe's had a sign showing $284 for install. Now I know this is as cheap as you can get, but that would be ~$600-650 per door installed. Now ...

Re: Replacement door time
This is part of where my confusion comes from. One quote for 5 doors is ~$16k, the other is ~$6k. Both are fiberglass doors, but again, not sure what brand of door the second is using and the first appears to be top of the line ProVia. The company with the higher bid is also going to bid out Waudena...

Replacement door time
Hi all, been a few years since I have been around. Had all the windows in the house replaced with Sunrise Vanguard just about 4 years ago and still love them. Now we are looking to do doors and are having some sticker shock. We have a 72x80 french style double front door, and 5 32x80's, a 1/2 lite d...

Re: Feedback on quote in Texas
We went with Southern Pride Openings. I have another thread on this main page that you can see some before and after pictures. Ours were done a few months back and my dad and stepmom liked them so much, they are getting theirs replaced by Southern Pride this next week. Tom, the owner of the company,...

Re: Feedback on quote in Texas
Curious where in TX you are located? If in DFW (like I am), there are multiple Sunrise dealers and I assume you probably had Statewide come out seeing those prices. If you are in Houston, you should give Randy above a call for a quote. After doing all my research on here, and going through about 6 b...

Re: My window install has begun
The brand is Decra. The previous owners put it on ~12 years ago and it has a 50 year life. It has the highest UL rating, which provides a nice insurance discount (35% or so). The largest claim type here in TX is hail, so these being impervious to hail makes it great in that respect and what causes t...

Re: My window install has begun
Alright, a little delayed with my final update, but the windows are in (well, except the two that they messed the grids up on and have to come back and redo later). A couple before and after pictures of the front and back. In the front, we wanted to keep configuration the same, but changed up the gr...

Re: My window install has begun
Thanks all for the responses, I figured it must be something like that. We actually went with SH to save some money since our house is 1 story and getting to all the windows is pretty easy. Here is the first big window on the front done. Had colonial grids before, changed it up to perimeter. Pretty ...

My window install has begun
So it has been a couple months, but my windows are finally here and today was the start of the install. Sunrise Vanguard x 28 windows (replacing 38 with new configurations). The 36x72's that have gone up on the front have .24 UF and .19 SHGC, pretty happy about those numbers. A little better SHGC th...
