Go to the manufacturer's web site and find the maintenance and care instructions. Most will say to use a mild detergent and warm water. I use simple green and softscrub without bleach. Thanks All. Yes, I went to the manufacture's web site, but they always take the safe side. Seems like SoftScrub wi...

They make a good window. They use super spacer for their IG. The prifile is very beefy and sturdy. I like them. I also like the other two as well. All three are decent windows. They are nice, but they have un-even window profiles ( un-even site lines ). Very ugly in my opinion. Same is try of Milga...

Best Product to Clean / Preserve Vinyl?

Hi.

Ok, for those of us who have installed Vinyl Retro Fit windows, what is the best way to keep the vinyl clean and white?

Some say to use SoftScrub w/Bleach, others say Simple Green does the trick.

Any pros/cons about these or other better solutions out there?

You may want to look at CertainTeed windows. They are very good looking from the outside. Even sight lines.

I am doing it myself and saving a fortune. Also, shop around for on-line prices as they are all over the place.

Yes, east coast. Did you see the pictures I listed above? Ugly un-symmetrical windows.

The more I look at homes in my neighborhood with these windows, the uglier they get.

Here is a nice demo explaining what I am saying about even sight lines. http://www.doorsnwindows.com/pp_web/Window%20Parts_files/frame.htm Also notice how the screen frame sits BEHIND the window frame hidden away somewhat. Milgard screens sit in FRONT of frame FULLY exposed - yuk :( . What you see ...

I tip once in a while and when I tip, I make sure to tip the guys who do the grunt work, the real hard work.

I never tip the guys who look very clean.

Re: just signed an Anlin contract! Help!

Talk about high pressure salesman! I just placed an order on 14 single hung Anlin windows for $8900, which includes wrap and tax. I wanted to find out if this was a good price (approx. $635 per window). I live in Southern California. That's a HIGH BID. I live in Southern California too and I am buy...

Guess it is all in your viewpoint, but I think that the picture is taken at an angle and gives the impression that the window has uneven sightlines. If you look at any Classic head on, the glass is exaclty the same size. Not to be argumentative or make excuses, it is just in a body's perception. We...

I recently canceld my Milgard order for 21 windows and I was lucky to have been able to cancel in time. First of all, I think Milgard classic windows are very well made, but one thing my wife and I noticed that nobody here has ever mentioned, is that when you look at a Milgard Classic window from t...
