I don’t think their is any reason why the window can’t be repainted, it is the paint that is special not so much the paint process. They build the window mask the glass and spray, the same way a car is done. Granted it is done under ideal conditions in terms of temperature and humidity. It’s o...

I remember this window and it was built nothing like Arnold it was built more like Pee Wee Herman.

If you are in the N.Y. Metro area it was fabricated by GMI (General Modulume Inc.) who went out of business about 1991 they were located in South Plainfield, N.J.

Michael: You are comparing the best window in the Reflections line to the drop window in the Impressions Line. The 5500 has more material weight in the framing and it has a more attractive sash with shadow groove welds compared to the knife cleaned on the 9400. They both have low-e/argon, extruded s...

Michael: I was in a trade show this past weekend and got to take a look at a lot of windows that people ask about including the Ideal Custom Weld II; I was not impressed with it, I would consider it low end. If they switch to a constant force the only one they could fit in that main frame is a thin ...

I think the 5500 is a little better than the Bryn Mawr II. I do consider the Certainteed to be a decent window but before choosing to sell Simonton I looked at the Certainteed line and I chose Simonton over Certainteed because I felt the product was better and the fact that Simonton actually manufac...
