Re: mulling windows
so you are saying the profinish will not be wide enough to replace the three 36" windows I now have without shimming the sides? I am ordering the profinish master series if that makes a difference?

Re: mulling windows
The 5500 are d/h but the profinish are s/h. I know it is a better selling point down the road to have d/h but I don't plan on selling any time soon. The s/h have a dp rating of 50 which I think will be fine for what I need.Just spoke with Simonton and they will factory mull the three windows into on...

Re: mulling windows
Thank you, that answers my question. Now all I need to do is decide between the 5500 and the pro finish master series from Simonton with most options being the same I know the 5500 has a stronger frame and the cost being only about $100 for the 5500 it may seem like a no brainer to go with the 5500,...

measuring window openings for replacement
Now I am a little confused(to say the least) I have read on several boards that the measurements should be taken on the inside of the house, but had a contractor out yesterday that said they should be taken from the outside.I know there is a difference in both but what is the advantage of taking them...

Re: PGT 400 series S/H
I have been trying without any luck to find a cutaway view of the PGT 400 series S/H window to see if it has a sloped sill or not. Does anyone have information on the sill used for this window? Thanks

Re: Cardinal LOWe 366 Vs SolarBan
Well this is the final quote I have for the Simonton 5500 reflections window:
(3) 36 x 61 d/h dbl strength LOe3 rail reinforcement full scree, no grids for $900 not installed. I think this is a good price for these windows hope I am not wrong

Re: Cardinal LOWe 366 Vs SolarBan
So you think I will not need to add the extra cost of getting the tint added?
I have to decide on whether to go with the Simontn 5500 reflections with the 366 or the PGT with the Solar Ban 70.I know the Simonton is a DH and the Pgt 400 series is a SH and the prices for the windows are almost the same.

Re: Cardinal LOWe 366 Vs SolarBan
My concern is being in Florida, and the three windows will be side by side on the west side of the house. I would like to cut down on the heat coming in now due to the single pane windows with aluminum frames.

Re: Cardinal LOWe 366 Vs SolarBan
Additional question on this topic. If I decide to go with the Simonton 5500 reflection window using LOe 366 would that not be about the same as using LoE 2 with a grey tint to help reduce the heat coming into the house?
