Re: Fixing lock in Sunrise Patio Door

Last picture, while not great, does indicated that the panel gapping it off a bit. Not sure if that is the sill being out of level or the manner in which the frame is attached to the wall, but this should be an installer correction.

Have them check them out. Sliders can be a bit more finicky, but on the average, will not be as "tight" as double hungs.

Re: New windows in NC

Operable windows will leak a bit more noise as noise is carried on air. The play from side to side is normal and intentional. Still captured in the weatherstripping pocket so its find.

Re: New windows in NC

Look like they are sealing the gaps between the old sill and side trim/framing with protector flashing tape. Unnecessary with properly installed capping, but it's an added layer of protection so it demonstrates that they are kind of going the extra mile.

Look at what the tax credit does as well. That Triple pane charge is mitigated by the qualification for incentives.

Re: Pella 250 vs Okna 800

Kind of the easiest question I got this week.

The Okna is the superior product. By a good bit.

Definitely need some more information as well as installation details. Agree with the above poster on the temperature read on the couple of things mentioned.
