Re: Gorell 5300 vs Simonton (5050 or 5500)
in my opinion, the Gorell is a better product than simonton 5500, also nicer looking and more energy efficient. its a no brainer in my view.

that would be fine, i would'nt worry about it. from the ground level it will be hard to make a distinction.

Re: Okna 500 quote - $8500 for 21 windows. Too Low?
i dont know guys, even if they are a very small company, and i mean very small, thats still a crazy low price for that window. i keep asking myself how they are'nt losing money. many times a very large dealer will be afforded better pricing than a smaller company based on volume, even if thats the c...

Re: Okna 500 quote - $8500 for 21 windows. Too Low?
that is a ridiculously low price.. i find myself amazed at how low some of these prices are and how they arent losing money at that rate. the 500 series usually sells in the 500 plus range. thats also cheap for the 400 series as well. i am guessing the salesman made an error and is going to eat the ...

Re: Okna 700 casement max size
the okna will definitely have better performance numbers than the simonton . okna just released a newly designed casement and its sharp.. it has triple locks and a beveled screen, real nice looking window. the simonton is bulky but a solid mid grade window.

Re: SilverLine by Andersen - No Choice Live in a Condo
i do many townhomes and condo's and they cannot demand you use a certain brand of windows.. i am 100% certain about this. the window just has to be the same exterior color and have the same grid configuration. i just had a situation where the owner was told only a certain brand of windows was allowe...

Re: Asking for Price Breakdown
i dont know of any company that breaks prices down that way, particularly the one's that install the better quality brands. each company has various overhead costs and so forth. asking them for a breakdown is like asking how much profit they are making..some companies may view that question as kind ...

Re: Affinity Elite Versus Okna 500
window contractors do NOT remove lead and they are not supposed to. that is lead abatement and totally different. your contractor should be certified and properly contain any potential lead dust. if he is certified, he will know what to do.. simply ask if he is RRP certified.. if he is, it is probab...
