OK... here is my new view. Enough. I for one am tired of covering Schuco's ass. Here are the facts which I have experienced first hand. Their service is by far the worst I have ever come across. I completely agree with prior posts stating that they have made countless promises to improve but it neve...

Netmouse The pull on the film is still caused by air leaks, but not necessarily from your windows, that's a secondary reaction. When windows are tested for air infiltration they are put under a simulated windload, but Wind Effect is not the only force working against you here. A process called Stack...

Buddy I lived in New York!!! 45 mins out of Manhattan in Westchester County. I am speaking of YOUR area specifically... and I sold Schuco products there very successfully and very profitably, for well under 1k a hole for double-hungs. I am extremely aware of many other's business practices, and with...

Did you pay for this service??? Your questions were answered early on and you were given suggestions for other windows. The thread took a turn and although you started it, that does not mean that it can't benefit others as it follows through it's twists and turns. If you want a passive response with...

Enough of this crap. Folks... I'm here to tell you that there is not a standard install, vinyl double-hung on the market that is worth your spending over $1,000 per opening, regardless of the BS you will see in the above posts. I originally introduced Schuco to both this and the sister site, and fou...

The advantages of TPS over SS are only in part due to the spacer itself. As for the spacer, TPS is the only truly continuous spacer on the market as it is literally melted back into itself at the end seam, not butt jointed or mechanically fastened at one corner like every other spacer. SS, although ...

A village code inspector or a private building inspector checking for tempered glass over a tub??? LMAO!!!! You must be joking. Most window installers in the country are not even required to be licensed, let alone educated on the codes. Village code officials are also not required to be educated as ...

Forget the film. They don't need to replace the entire window, just the glass pack. If it was not included in your contract, it will most likely be your responsibility to pay for the new tempered glass unit if they didn't charge you for the upgrade. It shouldn't be more than $150-$200.

Very Interesting I wonder how far it will reach if passed. We don't here, but I know many companies that utilize commission based independents for all of their sales people too. This bill implies that they would have to make all of their sales people as well as all of their installers full-time empl...

Yes... the object is to get the foam all the way around the frame (new window frame AND the old one if you can). You will want to invest in a professional grade foam gun that can be used with Dow Great Stuff "PRO" Window & Door foam or Hilti foams. The basic gun will cost you about $40...

Then King should have allowed for it. Using a professional foam gun, you only need about 1/8" to get the tip into the crevice. Any tighter than this and you are not allowing for natural movement of the house independently from the window. ALL products expand, contract and thus move. Ignoring th...
