Pella vs Anderson vs ???

#1 Post by doug124 »

Need 13 windows upstairs and 2 sliders in laundry room. Previous owner had Pellas put in downstairs. Called Anderson Renewal and their quote came to 20K--and that didn't include staining.

Pella came out and quoted 14K for the architect series with no upgrades and the promise to fix a few things downstairs (screens and broken window from previous owner).

HD came in at 13 for Anderson 400s. Lowes came in at 9K for Pella 850s which he said were the architects with no bells and whistles. Neither was stained.

Obviously my head's spinning. We want a nice mid grade wood window w/sash.

Help anyone? We live in suburban Chicago.

Have you looked at the Infinity from Marvin. They should be less than renewal and have better performance. infinitywindows_com.

handlethetruth,

Thanks for posting the link, many will see it and read the article.

However, there is no need to post it in 17 different threads. Posting it once is sufficient, and thats the truth!

Thank you.
