Custom Size Windows

#1 Post by matt »

I have two old windows that have to be replaced and I'd like to do the work myself. Unfortunately, I cannot find anyplace that makes a window as narrow as I require. I'd like to get the type of double hung replacement window that installs inside the existing jambs. The measurement is 10 3/4"w x 43 3/4"h and the smallest size I can find is about 15" or 16" wide. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I don't think you'll find any that narrow.
My suggestion would be to go a full frame replacement. Even if you'd find a 10 3/4" insert window, you'd only have a couple inches of glass left with how much space the frame and sashes would take up. It would be an odd looking window for sure.
