Spacers

How do you tell what spacer is in a window? If I order a Simonton with Super Spacer how do I make sure they didn't put the Intercept spacer in by mistake? Can you tell the difference by just looking at it?

On the Simonton 5500, with Super Spacer, it should look like black foam. On the 9800, it will look white and will have ridges running lengthwise.

The standard Intercept spacer will be silver metal, shaped like a "U".

It should be clearly printed on your contract or order invoice. Most dealers dont change the spacer to make more money but some still do. If a spacer is not listed you will probably get the intercept. Always get it in writing. Not having something on the contract that the salesman said you were getting usually means you wont get it and cant prove you ordered and paid for it.
