October 4th, 2006 is Change A Light Day!!!

Dear Friends,

As a proud Energy Star Partner, Performance Exteriors is sponsoring the EPA/DOE Energy Star 2006 Change a Light Campaign. October 4th, 2006 is Change a Light Day! We are simply asking individuals to "Take the Pledge" to replace 1 bulb (or more) with an energy efficient one. To help, simply visit the link provided below. Only a first name, a zip code and an email address are requested and there is no cost. This information is for Energy Star ONLY, and will never be resold or distributed. See their PRIVACY POLICY.

If every household in the U.S. replaced one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL), it would prevent enough pollution to equal removing one million cars from the road. CFLs provide high-quality light, smart technology, and design, requiring less energy while lasting longer than typical incandescent bulbs. ENERGY STAR qualified CFLs use 66% less energy than a standard incandescent bulb and last up to 10 times longer. Replacing a 100-watt incandescent with a 32-watt CFL can save you at least $30 in energy costs over the life of the bulb.
Use 1/3 of the energy of a standard incandescent light
Last up to 10 times longer
Save an average of $30 or more in energy costs over its lifetime
Prevent 450 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions over its lifetime
Help preserve our energy resources

ALL THAT... JUST FROM CHANGING ONE LITTLE LIGHT BULB! Please Take one minute to Take the Pledge. Afterwards, you can also print valuable coupons from the site for bulbs.

Thank you in advance for taking such a small step that helps all of us in BIG ways!!! Please share this message with your friends, family, co-workers, etc. Change A Light, Change the World.

This is a great idea!!

For those of you who are members of Costco, they have a great deal on a combo pack of flourescent replacement bulbs. Thats what I plan to use to join in on Change A Light day.

THANKS CHRIS!!!
Just be sure to register your pledge too. It's the only way the EPA/DOE can measure the successes of the annual Change A Light Campaigns. C'mon people... this one's a no-brainer. Lasts 10 times longer, uses a third of the energy, helps the environment, and burns at less than 100 degrees F instead of other popular bulbs that burn at over 1000F, thus reducing the chance of fire or burns.

Please do your part... Take the Pledge.
