I've been receiving several quotes and in general the quality of the quotes has been very poor. They have come from installers who appear to be very conscientious and professional. However, their quotes lack details, options that we discussed and so forth. They appear just to be typed up in Microsoft Word. Is that normal?

It is typical, when contractors have as much work as they can keep up with. Let them know that you are serious about replacing your windows (not just kicking tires), and that you want for specificity in the proposal before choosing a company and product.

I know that parts of Florida are still trying to get through all of the hurricane damage, and many of the contractors are busier than a one legged man in a butt-kicking contest.
