I am re-siding my house and decided it was the perfect time to replace the old single pane windows that are in pretty bad shape.
I actually bought some Crestline windows at Menards, but when I started taking off the plastic I noticed the welds at the corners are flared out, so that there is not a clean seam there. Its hard to tell for sure, but it looks like some of the welds may have gaps between the pieces of vinyl at the corners.
Out of 7 windows maybe 1 or 2 look OK, so I decided it may be best to take them back.
I am looking for suggestions on other options.
Since I am redoing the siding I want to get new construction. I will only be in the house another 3-5 years, so I just want something, relatively low in cost, standard, that will not leak on me.
I have looked at JeldWen and the the low end Pellas (ThermaStar?)
Thanks
