#1 Post by JTXX »

What are the differences between the Simonton Replacement 9400/9800 series and the 5500 series windows? Is there a big price difference?

Thanks

The 9800 looks nicer in my opinion with its contoured sashes, nicer lift rails, and different locking hardware. It has a different default glass option, but the 5500 can be upgraded similarly in many cases. I believe it also has a glass breakage warranty and a little more weather stripping. The energy efficiency compared to the 5500 is very similar. When buying from a local building supply store, I believe the 9800 runs $30-60 more if my memory serves.
