Did I get a "good deal" for these windows?

For all those Replacement Window decisions - just read, review or post a question. You will be helped!

Did I get a "good deal" for these windows?

#1 Post by JimR1998 »

I just signed the contract for the final set of windows. How did I do with prices here? I think the contractor has done a good job and we're very happy with the new windows, but the total cost was about $1500 more than we budgeted for. Here's what we got:

Certainteed - $4265
- 5-lite bow with 2 operable casements and custom grid configuration (11 feet wide x 60")

Simonton ProFinish Contractor - $1775
- Triple-mull DH new construction (10 foot wide x 60")

Simonton 5500 Series - $3370
- 3 Double Hung (36W x 56H) with Super Spacer
- 1 Slider (30Wx20H)
- Triple-mull DH replacement with Super Spacer (7 feet wide x 60")

Total: $9410.

All windows were Low-E, Argon and include exterior aluminum capping and interior trim (unfinished) where necessary.

Just curious if this could be considered a "good deal". Thanks.
