VPI vs. Amerimax?

Hi,

I'm new to this forum but am hoping someone can help with my decision dilemma.

I've gotten my quotes -- three different window brands, though one I've already decided against simply because it doesn't have the features I want.

Does anyone have experience with either Amerimax or VPI? Both have tilt-out windows, screens that pop out to the inside, double cam locks. Both appear to use the same kind of insulation. The price difference is not that much, less than $500 between the two quotes from two different installers.

I've heard one negative thing about VPI, but it was from a competitor who doesn't carry that line of windows, so I don't know how much credibility to give that (He uses Milgard and Amerimax). I haven't found anything derogatory about either brand anywhere so far.


(the third was Milgard but they don't have the tilt-out windows and I don't like the kind of locks they use)
