Hi,
We're getting Simonton 7300 series windows for our home. We're also getting a new alarm system. One alarm guy told me that it would void the warranty if they hardwire the windows where they would drill a hold in the vinyl. Is this true?
He said the can put wireless or hardwire with the little magnet box sticking out in front of it.
thanks

No it doesn't void the warranty. The alarm guy just wants to do it the easy way. It takes a couple hours to use remote transmitters and about two days to hardwire. He's just being lazy. Make him hardwire it. It would be much easier for him to be there on the same day they are installing windows.
