Hi,
I've notice that since the 1970s, Fixed over slider combination windows have become standard in Canada (replacing single or double hung), while Stateside, double hung windows have maintained their popularity.
I think fixed over slider replacements look rather bad on pre-WW1 housing, yet you see that all over Toronto.
Does anyone know why this style has become so popular north of the border, but is non-existant in the US?
Solve my lifelong mystery.
