New Construction Windows for DIY

#1 Post by MikeE »

You've heard the story before :D ... I just purchased an old home with very old single pane, double-hung wooden windows that are in terrible shape. I am looking to purchase 39  vinyl new construction windows to self install.

Here are the big questions:

1) What is the best brand or brands of vinyl new construction windows?

2) Any ideas/recommendations on where to buy?

I live in Somerset County NJ and have looked at Lowes/Home Depot. I wasn't thrilled with what they offer. Obviously, I want to get a good deal but I also want a good quality window. There seem to be so many manufactures of windows it gets really confusing. I know Schuco is the brand of choice around here but they don't sell to DIY'ers.

Thanks in advance

We can can help you with Simonton Products; on our distribution side we typically sell contractors but we will work with homeowners.
