I have a FR window which essentially is 2 windows (18"w) on the ends and a 52" 'dead pane' window in the middle. I am told that I cannot convert that dead space into a replacement window as the 52" width exceeds max width. Does anyone on this site have any suggestions? Are there any window manufacturers that exceeds this max width? I am told the cost for converting to a bay or bow is significantly higher (needs carpentering). Thanks.

Many doublehung windows go to 54" on width. Just make sure to get a stout one with metal reinforcement.
Try calling other companies in your area to see if they can help you with a window that size.
