Wood windows are great, as long as you don't mind replacing them again in 10 years or so...
handyman, like guy said, different markets detrmine different prices. And btw, stop acting like you are the only one who looks out for the customer. I always put the customer's needs first. ALWAYS!! I'm not one opf those spit and polished fast talking sales reps who throw numbers around to make something look like it's not. I take on more of a consultive role, and no, obviously, i don't have 15 yrs of installing under my belt, but I have been to some installs, and I did go through the factory install training program. Does that make me an expert?? well, of course not, but I do everything I can to learn all I can about this industry, and all aspects of it.
