Air infiltration ratings - Okna vs Simonton
Air infiltration ratings - Okna vs Simonton
Does anyone know the air infiltration numbers for DH windows of Okna Insultec 500 and/or Simonton 5500. I tried looking it up at nfrc.org, but it doesn't seem to list them. (I may have missed it, if so, would someone kindly point it out). In paying attention to U and SHGC ratings, it seems to me that air infiltration numbers deserve the same attention. Also tried looking it up at the websites of each company, but can't seem to find it either. I'm ready to pull the trigger between the two makes, just want to check these numbers. Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your help WoW.
Looks like Okna show much better ratings for air infiltration than Simonton. Its a little curious though, because Simonton shows a specific rating for particular window sizes under different operating forces and uniform loads, but Okna simply declares a 0.01 cam/ft2, (should be cfm/ft2). Just a rhetorical question I suppose, but one would have to wonder why that is.

wow the 505 is a single hung window and the 500 has no data on it. A single hung window should give you good air infiltration.

Their site is messed up this morning.
The Double Hung 500 has an air rating of 0.02 cf/min @ 25mph.
The window size on the Okna was 40 by 63.
