Plygem Pro vs Milgard Tuscany?

#1 Post by geekbanter »

Hi Folks,

I am looking to replace my 20+ year old windows in I home I purchased in December. My plan is to take advantage of the $1500 federal tax credit. The options I have through a local glass installer are Plygem and Milgard. To get the tax credit the windows offered were the Plygem Pro series vinyl with dual pane Solar Ban60, Low e, argon gas, and warm edge plus spacer. The Milgard option is the Tuscany dual pane window with the 3D Max package.

The cost of the Milgard windows is about 15% more for the total project. They do have the 10 year transferable warranty. I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions or experience with the differences between the two windows.

Thanks,

I've never been impressed with the Milgard, the Plygem Pro is a nice window without some of the bells and whistles of the Premium series.
