Intercept or SuperSpacer in MD ?

#1 Post by windows md »

Hello,
I consider going with Softlite Bainbridge Plus windows.
Double-Pain with 'Intercept' Spacer, U-value=0.29.
Super Spacer is optional for additional $30.
The sales manager tells me, in his opinion, for Maryland moderate climate it is not really essential.
Please advise, I am totally lost on those details.
thank you.

Super Spacer is a nice option but not necessarily worth the $30.

Bainbridge is a pretty good window.

Thank you very much for your replies, very helpful.
I am all done, ready to go with 11 double hung Bainbridge windows.
Next step, how to make sure installation is done properly? We have been told Softlite provides their installers, factory trained.
(this was a major sell point for us). Should I ask to review insulation before they put clad around? :)
or just hope for the better?

Factory trained is a sales gimmick for most organizations.

My installers are Factory Trained from Marvin Infinity and the training covered exactly zero that they did not know already and they actually pointed out some techniques to the "Trainer".

If you installer is not skilled and is still "Factory Trained" prepare for a bad installation. If he has skills, he will do it right regardless.

You should look at work examples and talk to customers.
